Grapples

Tractor grapples mount to your tractor's loader — best for moving logs, brush, and debris on a property. Skid steer grapples mount to a skid steer/track loader's quick-attach plate — same job, more force, more maneuverable. Root grapples have wider, deeper tines designed to dig roots and rocks out of the ground. Match the grapple to the host machine you have, then to the job.

Sizing depends on your machine's lift capacity and the work you'll do. For compact tractors (under 30 HP), a 36–48" grapple is right. For 30–60 HP tractors and most skid steers, 48–66". For 60HP+ tractors or large skid steers doing land clearing, 72–84". Wider grapples grab more per pass but add weight — too wide and you'll exceed your machine's lift capacity.

Bucket grapples have a closed bottom — good for scooping loose material plus grabbing logs. Root grapples have spaced tines on the bottom — good for sifting dirt while grabbing roots, rocks, and debris. Most grapples run on 8–25 GPM hydraulic flow — well within standard tractor and skid steer specs. Standard-flow skid steers (17–22 GPM) handle most grapples. Tractors need front loader hydraulics with at least one auxiliary outlet. If your tractor doesn't have aux hydraulics, you can add a third-function valve kit. Check your machine's specs before buying.

Skid steer grapples ship with universal quick-attach plates that fit Bobcat, Cat, Kubota, John Deere, and most major brands. Tractor grapples need to match your loader's quick-attach style — most fit Skid Steer Quick Attach (SSQA), Euro/Global, John Deere, or Kubota mounts. Specify your machine when ordering and we'll confirm the right mount.

Grapples weigh 200–700 lbs depending on size. That weight reduces your usable lift capacity by the same amount — a 600 lb grapple on a tractor rated for 1,500 lbs of lift means you can only lift 900 lbs of payload.
