Product Description

The Power Axe is the largest single-blade tree shear on the market, and the numbers are the reason. A 5.5-inch by 14-inch cylinder generates over 48 tons of shearing force, roughly 20 percent more than the next closest competitor, which is what it takes to cut 17-inch softwood and 14-inch hardwood cleanly instead of crushing through it.

The blade itself weighs 180 pounds and measures 1.25 inches thick, cut from AR400 abrasion-resistant steel. Behind it, a 3-inch blade pivot pin and a 4.5-inch hardened steel head pivot carry the load that force generates, because a shear is only as good as the pins holding it together.

A 3-inch by 3-inch dual-tube pushbar takes the impact of falling trees so the shear body does not. Dual 1-inch jaws sandwich UHMW material so the blade never contacts steel when fully closed, which is what kills edges on lesser shears. The fishhook design holds the tree in place while you cut, so it goes where you put it.

The head rotates 90 degrees manually as standard, with a hydraulic rotation package available if you would rather do it from the cab.
